Impact Model

impact

Improving education attainment
and capabilities of youths
who are generations of today

impact

Improving academic
competencies of children who are
generations of tomorrow

In the short-term, i-Saksham trains youth as community edu-leaders under a 2-year fellowship program to empower others through education. These youths improve their subject knowledge, learn modern pedagogy tools (सीखें) and impart quality education to children by catering to multi-level learning needs (सिखाएं). Children achieve grade appropriate competencies.

In the long-term, fellowship program acts as a stepping stone for youth to build their capabilities to pursue their aspirations, attain higher education or become a mainstream education professional. From the sensitized youth of today, they become engaged parents of tomorrow continuing to lead the educational change in the community they belong to.

Children demonstrate academic commitment and pursue learning with increased confidence. With their re-kindled passion for education, they serve as edu-leaders of tomorrow and emerge as self-reliant individuals.

The continuous demonstration of delivery of quality education in the marginalized communities helps in infusion of modern child-centric pedagogy practices, and inspires other educators thereby building the overall educational capacity.

Hence a virtuous cycle emerges.

i-Saksham changed my perception towards life and career. I am now more aware of the options available for me to pursue a good career. Earlier I used to think that getting a government job is the only thing for a successful life.

Between studying by yourself and being taught by somebody, there’s a world of difference. The learning from the training received by me at i-Saksham is evident by the teaching methods I adopt at the centre; for example, by jumbling up cut-outs of the alphabets and asking children to arrange them in order, to form meaningful words.
